Why Abbotsinch

The people behind the investment

Buying the right property is only the beginning. Long-term returns depend on what happens after you buy it — the tenant, the repairs, the costs, the maintenance. We are on the ground, close to the properties, and involved in the decisions that matter.

Founder

Alan Findlay

Alan Findlay, founder of Abbotsinch Capital

Alan started his career as a London stockbroker while building a small portfolio of London properties alongside it — until, in 2001, the portfolio was producing enough income to step back from salaried work.

On his final day, at leaving drinks, he was explaining his plan to build a buy-to-let business when a passer-by from Ireland asked to know more. That stranger became Alan's first client, and has continued to buy property and refer friends ever since.

With a growing word-of-mouth base of investors from Ireland, the UK, Canada and further afield, the business expanded to Buffalo, New York in 2009 as the investment case there became steadily more compelling than London's.

Alan lives in Buffalo with his wife and three children. Whether you are starting with a couple of units, combining strategies across a portfolio, or building a client-owned portfolio of hundreds of houses, he can draw on that experience to support your investment.

Investor alignment

Direct ownership. Strategic control.

Abbotsinch does not operate a blind pool. You retain full ownership and control of your assets. We provide the analytical framework and localised infrastructure to support your strategy, and we aim to build relationships that prioritise long-term performance over transaction volume.

We invest alongside our clients, applying the same standard of diligence to their acquisitions that we demand of our own capital.

Next step

Start with a call.

Whether you are investing for the first time or already hold property, and whether you are in the US, the UK, Ireland, Canada or elsewhere — it starts with a conversation and some decision-making.
